Summary

The amazing Maximuscle Cyclone Bars bars not only taste awesome, but pack a serious punch too. In fact they are the strongest & most potent muscle building bars you can buy. Each bar delivers a whopping 23g of protein, 5g Creatine, 1.5g HMB™ (Enzymatic Metabolite of Leucine); and 2g Glutamine, with a real dark Belgian chocolate coating and a soft fluffy centre. Maximuscle Cyclone bars are an ideal alternative to powders to support your muscle building and strength goals, which when used in conjunction with your weight training regime, could increase your muscle size and strength. After intense training Maximuscle Cyclone Bars accelerate muscle refuelling, with faster recovery of glycogen stores than carbohydrates alone. If not taking Cyclone powder, take 2 bars a day. Available in Chocolate and Choc Orange flavours.

I got half way through the first bar and frankly I don't think I fancy carrying on with them. The first bite is OK, but the after taste is pretty grim. Quite surprising given that the Promax bars taste pretty good.

load of good quality nutrition in them! and a noticable boost from the createine. taste was not a good as the promax bars though, aftertast is a little medicine like.

Well thought out ingredients and a high protein dose. The most important thing though is they taste fantastic. The texture might take a little getting used to at first but they`re the best tasting protein bar i`ve ever had. A job well done there Maximuscle!

Just ordered some of these Bars direct from Maximuscle to trial them and they taste great, ive tired a few protein bars such as EAS Mytoplex and LA Muscle Whey Bars but the Cyclone Bar beats it hands down - Very Impressed !

Q & A

Q.

Are the Maximuscle cyclone bars suitable if you are trying to follow a low carb diet?

A.

Cyclone bars contain the equivalent of about 13 grams of carbs (the sugar alcohols have fewer calories than carbs and don't spike blood sugar).

13 grams of carbs is less than in a slice of bread (which usually has about 20 grams), so it depends upon how "low carb" your diet is. Atkins only allows 20 grams per day initially and then I think 40 or 50 grams. Overall the Cyclone bar is quite low in carbs, though.

For the best info on how to adjust your carb intake for maximum results, see "The Can't Fail Diet" on the following link - http://www.tropicanafitness.com/view/v/article/a/95

Q.

Total Carbohydrates: 17.3g
-Sugars: 9.8g
-Polyols: 4.9g

I would like to know what Polyols are and whether these bars are too high in sugar content.

A.

Polyols are a type of sugar alcohol. They are used in bars because 1)they don't jack up blood sugar or insulin like sugar and other carbohydrates do (they are also known as "low impact" carbs because of this property) 2) they have fewer calories than carbs and 3) they give the bar a nice soft texture. Most high protein bars contain these types of ingredients.
