This is an accepted fact. Different carbohydrate sources with different Glycemic measurements are required to satisfy these varying requirements. It’s additionally important that along with the triple-charged carbohydrate content of Battery +/- 3, amino acids that are vital to the muscle preservation process are also included. This is why PhD Nutrition invented Battery +/-3.
Step 1 - Long and mid-term energy - Battery+/-3 contains fructose and maltodextrin to ensure that when taken before and during exercise, the blood sugar spike will not be so great that it impairs long and mid-term performance.
Step 2 - Immediate glycogen replenishment- High Impact carbs! - Dextrose monohydrate has a high-glycemic rating ensuring immediate and effective glycogen replenishment and an instant elevation of blood sugar for complete recovery.
Step 3 - Added Branched Chain Amino Acids and L-Glutamine - BCAA’s are considered the critical cluster of amino acids - the most vital of all. PhD Nutrition consider Leucine, Iso-leucine and Valine as integral inclusions within Battery+/-3 for the important role they play in helping the body preserve muscle tissue. BCAA’s are needed for the maintenance of muscle tissue and appear to preserve muscle stores of glycogen. Pre-workout energy boost or carbohydrate load: Add 2 scoops of PhD Battery to 300-400ml ice cold water and shake vigorously for 5 seconds or more.
During exercise: Add 2 scoops (40 grams)of PhD Nutrition’s Battery +/-3 to 300-400ml of ice cold water and shake vigorously for 5 seconds or more.
Post workout: Add 3 scoops (60 grams) of PhD Nutrition’s Battery +/-3 to 500ml of ice-cold water and shake vigorously for 5 seconds or more.
This is by far the best product for reducing pain in the muscles, especially the pains you get the very next morning.
Mix 3 scoops in 500ml of water (roughly 1 small water bottle). Prepare AT LEAST two bottles like this.
Start drinking (slowly) one bottle from 20mins before your workout to about halfway into it (you must plan how long your workout will take). Then start the next bottle and carry on drinking THROUGHOUT your workout till about 10mins after.
That's 6 scoops in total on workout days. That should be enough, but if you like, you can take another 1.5 scoops (in 250 ml of water) straight after your workout.
Quite a cheap product and very effective if administered correctly.
The taste is no joke - like chewing a saccharine table. I love phd products but cant stomach this at all so back to Maximuscle Viper.
I agree about the taste, but the flavor is awesome just a tad too strong.
Product is pretty good - loads of energy in one serving almost 1500KJ and heaps of sugar to power you through that work out.
Works well for me, although with the recommended dosages, the taste can be a bit strong, personal prefrence i suppose, otherwise, tastes great and works well.

is this product best taken mixed in with a post workout shake such as PHD Nutrition Pharma Whey, nd exactly what results would i expect to see from use.
YOu could use it post-workout but it is designed to be taken pre-workout, as it supplies energy, electrolytes (lost in sweat) and BCAAs (aminos used during exercise). To use post workout, either mix it with or take it after your Pharma Whey.

It's similar - more servings, lower price but doesn't have quite as potent an amino acid make up.
