hi it says that you get 90 servings for each big tub- so i am right in saying this is true and that the big tub would last a full month?
- A.
Instant whey 2.2kg dose say 90 servings. If you are taking only 2 servings a day then this product would last you 45 days.
- Q.
hi is this product good for promoting lean muscle mass and some weight loss...? is this better than the Phd diet whey protein product..? or can i mix the two at dufferent times and still maintain lean mass...?
- A.
Instant whey is a very good all round protein but when it comes to decreasing body fat then I would recommend stacking any protein powder with a fat burning product to help burn more calories during the day and during exercise.
Phd Diet Whey is a fantastic product because it contains key ingredients for fat burning like green tea and cla. Both products can be used at the same as they are protein products.
- Q.
Hi i have been using Reflex instant whey for 1 year i than stop it for a few months than want back on it i was fine i than started to throw up evey time i take it. Its not out of date i have been mixing it in water for the pass year but for some reason i cant seem to keep it down please help me thank you.
- A.
Haven't heard of this happening before with whey protein because it is an easily absorbed protein and a natural constituent of milk. I would suggest trying a different brand - PhD Pharma Whey is about the same level of carbs, protein, etc and tastes great, so go for that.
- Q.
I am a 52 year old woman, working out 4 times a week and looking for fat loss. I currently take Reflex Instant Whey 3 times a day combined with a low fat diet.
Is there any more I could be doing?
- A.
Most bodybuilders (and the same principals apply to anyone's diet) get better results adjusting their carbs down and their protein up rather than focussing too much on fat. Your 3 scoops is therefore good practice. You could also look at trying a fat burner. Hydroxycut Max (specifically for women) is our newest addition but we have numerous others also.
- Q.
Hi I am 36 and weigh 8st 10. I excercise at 6am each morning at the gym, I feel like I havent got a lot of energy when training as I havent eaten, is there anything you can recommend that I could drink before excercising that would help and would fuel the muscles etc?
- A.
Go with Intravol, The Edge or NaNO Vapor. Intravol is meant to be sipped starting at the outset of training and provides carbs, electrolytes, etc. The Edge gives carbs, green tea for energy and a small amount of quality protein. Vapor gives you a stimulant boost and some carbohydrates for energy.
- Q.
In the description it clearly states *no artificial sweeteners* but in the ingredients list it states that it does indeed contain artificial sweeteners.. explain !
- A.
The text on Instant Whey states:
"• No artificial flavours or colours "
Apparently "flavours" doesn't include "sweeteners" - we just use the information provided by the manufacturer, so if you have an issue with this, you're best off calling Reflex. If you have purchased the product and want to return it, we'll be happy to replace it with a protein that does not contain artificial sweeteners or to refund you money.
By the way, artificial sweeteners are considered to be safe by the vast majority of experts (except those employed by the sugar industry) - see the article, http://www.tropicanafitness.com/view/v/article/a/76
- Q.
Hi, I have just looked at another site and they are selling 'Tropical Coconut' and 'Fruit Punch' flavour. Will you stock this anytime soon?
- A.
We used to carry these flavours but found that they didn't sell very well at all, so we had to drop them.
- Q.
I wondered what would you recommend out of Reflex whey, the Phd whey and the Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard whey? I work out 3/4 times a week and am looking for big and fast results. Also if you could suggest the best recovery drink? Thanks
- A.
All are high-quality products and none of them would be expected to yield better gains or recovery. Optimum is a bit expensive and Reflex and PhD are similar price and quality. Most people think the PhD tastes best (especially if you like strawberry or banana).
Best recovery drink is Anator P70 or have a whey shake followed immediately by Cell-Tech. Another great choice is Muscle Fuel Anabolic. All of the above have creatine, which is essential to maximize gains in mass and strength.
- Q.
How many grams of cholesterol does one serving of this product contain?
- A.
Again, it doesn't list cholesterol but most whey protein products are about 50mg per scoop.
- Q.
I am trying to follow a low carb diet and want to have a protein shake as my last meal before i go to bed. However I am not sure whether skimmed milk with natural peanut butter will add to my daily carb intake or if i should just take it with water for less carbs.
- A.
Each cup (250 millilitres) of milk is only 8 grams of protein but 13 grams of carbohydrates. So for best results use water.
For a tried and true moderate carb diet, written by a sports nutrition expert who has worked with some of the world’s best bodybuilders and athletes, see the article - http://www.tropicanafitness.com/view/v/article/a/95
- Q.
thankyou for your reply do you think my best bet would be ( for price and value)
instant whey + carbo maxx
high protein and high carbs
- A.
Yes, this would be a good combo as far as value. The best creatine value is probably the Tropicana brand powdered creatine (it is Creapure brand, micronized and from the premier manufacturer in Germany). For creatine tablets, go with Creadex or Creakic as they have proven ingredientst to ensure better creatine retention in the muscle and they deliver a good-sized serving of creatine.
- Q.
which is better this or pharma whey
i would take 5 scoops of this
or
3 scoops of pharma whey
im lookin to maintain weight ive put on from instant mass and bring out some definition also GROW
- A.
Both of these products are high-quality whey proteins from reputable companies. I might lean slightly towards the pharma whey. Be careful in trying to "grow" and "bring out some definition". Unless you have freakish genetics, you will have to gain muscle (along with some fat) with a high calorie diet and the other things I've suggested and then keep the protein high and drop the carbs when you decide it's time to get defined. Just make sure you don't lose the weight too quickly when you decide to lose it because that is where you may lose too much muscle. Aim for 1 to 2 kilos per week maximum (you'll always lose the most weight in the first week).
For the best diet to lose primarily fat and maintain maximum muscle, go the the "archives" section of the Tropicana ARTICLES section and click on "The Can't Fail Diet".
