After your workout it is vital to replace the glycogen which gives your muscles their lean mass and energy. According to current research, the protein requirement of athletes is approximately 1.2 – 1.8g/kg body weight, compared with 0.8 - 0.9g/kg body weight for less active individuals. For heavy athletes, this extra requirement is especially important. Studies have shown that the inclusion of protein in sports recovery drinks can improve recovery and reduce post exercise stress after strenuous training. Glycogen is the stored form of glucose which is used as an energy source in muscles. It is also the main component of lean muscle mass. Muscle glycogen can usually provide sufficient energy for about 45 minutes of high intensity exercise. Once these reserves are used up, muscles become fatigued and more sensitive to cramps. You must replace your muscle glycogen immediately after exercise to feel fit and be ready to exercise the following day. The rate of post exercise muscle glycogen synthesis is 40 – 50% faster with carbohydrate / protein mixtures compared with carbohydrate only drinks. The presence of protein appears to enhance insulin secretion primarily influenced by the carbohydrates, producing an increased rate of muscle glycogen synthesis.
Complex carbohydrate is the fuel which drives muscle growth and fat breakdown. Extra protein intake is also important while dieting as it prevents the body from burning muscle tissue for energy. 35% protein, derived from whey and 40% complex carbohydrate to aid in absorption and to provide energy. Protein + Carbs is the ideal all rounder for general fitness athletes or those wanting to lose weight.

Add 4 scoops (100g) to 1 pint of water. For best results use a blender, shaker or shake in a screw topped jar, otherwise mix with a fork. We recommend mixing with water. You may wish to use milk, but this is less nutritionaly accurate and less economical than mixing with water. Take immediately after exercise, and at any time when your protein and carbohydrate intake is low. Not recommended before exercise.
Qdo i need to take a separate creatine suppliment if i want creatine
The recommended daily dose of creatine is 5g; you will obtain 3g of this by taking Nutrisport Protein & Carbs, therefore you may wish to supplement this with a further creatine supplement.
You may wish to try Nutrisport Creatine Powder 600g, £13.99 - being in a powder form, it is easier to measure.
I hope this information addresses your query.
QHow much water/milk is needed to mix with 100g of this powder?
Qdoes this product really contain "no sugar"? as i find this very hard to belive
This product contains no added sugar. Maltodextrin has a sweet like taste which is used in place of sugar and also provides a high carb content.
Qhi, i want to take this before training, i have 2 meals before training but would it be ok if i drink this is as 1 meal and eat something afterwards? although it says its not ssuitable before training but if i take it like 4 hours before would that be okk?
Four hours before training should be fine - I think they mean not to take it within say an hour before (although some people do take products like this before training - it depends upon your individual response).
QIs it OK if I take 3 serving's of protein with 1 pint of water straight after training?
the protein intake comes down to how much you personally require for your goals and body weight.
Qit states to use 4 scoops (100g) i measured out 4 flat scoops and it is way over 100g. 2.5 scoops is 100g. So should i use 4 scoops or 100g's worth of powder ?
The container states that this product comes with a 25g scoop? Can you confirm your scoop is 25g? 4 level scoops should equate to 100g of powder.
QWhat is the minimum age to start using this supplement
Personally we recommend this product is not suitable for anyone under the age of 16 because it contains creatine monohydrate. There is no manufacture restriction on age for this product but we feel some supplements should only be introduced from 16+.
QWhy is it not recommended before exercise?
Because this supplement is designed to replenish stores of glycogen and amino acids that have been depleted through exercise. It is important to take immediately post-workout, to aid recovery and muscle repair.
Qwhy is it not recommended before exercise? i have used all-in-ones before as a pre-workout drink and got good results
You can use it before training but if taken too close to training it could cause bloating or possbly some minor fluctuations in blood sugar. However, everyone is different, some people can eat a full meal and then train and some people can't eat for 3 hours before...and everyone in between...
QYou said it doesn't contain creatine, but on the side it says 3000mg Creatine Monohydrate per 100g serving.
We have checked the product information and the product dose contain 3000mg of Creatine Monohydrate per 100g serving.
Sorry for any confusion.
QWill this product help me gain weight and muscle mass?
Yes in conjuction with the right diet and training. The extra carbs will aid in weight gain and the protein will help promote lean muscle.
